OFT 600A - Domestic and non domestic oil tank installation.

OFT 101   - Domestic / light commercial servicing and commisioning - pressure jet.

OFT 105E - Domestic oil fired system installation.

Our Normal Oil Boiler Service procedure is detailed below:

• Visual inspection of oil tank and fitting for corrosion and leaks with possible fire or environmental hazards. Any defects will be noted to the customer.
• Visual Inspection of Boiler flue .
• Oil filters cleaned as required.
• Hard and flexible fuel lines inspected for leakages. Flexible fuel lines replaced if over five years old, in accordance with OFTEC requirements and safety of the customer.
• Oil line Fire Valves inspected and tested to ensure correct operation. Any incorrect valve locations noted to the customer.
• Inspect Boiler room to ensure adequate air ventilation. Report any defects to the customer.
• Boiler fuse inspected and replaced with specified fuse.
• Boiler test-fired to ensure it is firing up.
• Burner unit removed from boiler, and boiler baffles removed, cleaned and replaced. The combustion chamber brushed, and debris and soot vacuumed up. The inside will be visually inspected for defects and its condition noted.
• Fan housing removed from burner, cleaned and inspected.
• Motor and bearings checked for excessive wear and replaced if necessary.
• Boiler wiring visually inspected for defects and replaced if required.
• Oil pump removed, cleaned, inspected . Drive couple inspected for excessive wear and replaced if necessary.
• Photocell cleaned, inspected.
• Blast tube removed and checked for excessive wear or corrosion.
• Nozzle replaced with manufacturer specified nozzle, as current one may not be correct.
• Spark Electrodes removed, cleaned and inspected for cracks and defects, and replaced with manufacturer-specified clearances to ensure efficiency.
• Replace burner in boiler unit and re-bleed system.
• Adjust Oil pump pressure to manufacturer specification using specialist oil boiler pressure gauge.
• Perform an Oil Boiler Smoke Test using a specialist smoke pump to ensure burner is not producing high levels of soot, adjust burner as required.
• Perform a Flue Gas Analysis Test using hand-held computerised test module and ‘tune’ burner to manufacture specification. This will ensure that the burner is working perfect and using the exact amount of flue for combustion and produce undetectable amounts of Carbon Monoxide and other dangerous gases.
• Print out all results including Boiler Efficiency Report for customer records.
• Replace covers and guards on Boiler.
• Run boiler unit to ensure safe running and clean work are up.
• Complete documentation for customer detailing parts used. Any safety or environmental issues that need attention will also be noted and presented to customer.

There are many types of oil tanks for a range of applications. Single skin oil tanks are usually sufficient for domestic use , however commercial , large , or certain oil storage locations would need a bunded oil tank.
